About this deal

When you select a PSYKER unit to manifest psychic powers, you select one psychic power that unit knows and attempt to manifest it. With the exception of Smite, you cannot attempt to manifest the same psychic power more than once in the same battle round, even with different PSYKER units. The same PSYKER unit cannot attempt to manifest Smite more than once during the same battle round.

Librarian ( Epistolary • Codicier • Lexicanium • Primaris Librarian • Vanguard Librarian) • Chaplain ( Reclusiarch • Primaris Chaplain • Judiciar) • Apothecary ( Primaris Apothecary • Apothecary Biologis • Helix Adept) • Techmarine Some are known to be capable of unleashing unprecedented levels of destruction, perhaps laying waste to entire cities in a single blast. Others are so poorly understood that their use would only be risked in the direst of circumstances, and it is the responsibility of the Deathwatch Techmarine to do so when called upon by his Watch Commander. One other thing included in this book is a set of 13 Chapter warlord traits. We’ll cover them here partly because they’re printed in the main codex, and partly because there is one relevant case (Deathwatch) where you can get one of these and take it from this list specifically, so it would be doing those players a disservice to completely ignore them. These ones won’t be rated because in most contexts they aren’t really comparable to each other – we’ll talk about them in their proper context in their supplement articles. Omnissian Axe (Astartes Pattern) - Often carried by Techmarines to show their devotion to the Omnissiah, this weapon has a long, staff-like body tipped with half of the circular Cog Mechanicum icon. The symbol forms a blade and is sheathed in a power field. Arcs of energy illuminate the ridged blade and light the skull's eyes with a hungry glow, leaving little doubt that — even while covered with inscribed circuitry indicating its sacred nature -- this religious icon is also a deadly weapon in a Space Marine's powerful hands. The Omnissian Axe also functions as a Combi-tool.The most senior Techmarine in a Chapter commands the Armoury and is known as the Master of the Forge. His knowledge of the arcane sciences has been refined over centuries and rivals that of the Tech-priests of Mars. In addition to his responsibilities in the Chapter Armoury, the Master of the Forge is tasked with conserving any of the Chapter's arcane relics. If the need is great, he may even unleash the fury of these lost technologies upon the foe. Rapid Fire – 2CP –One INTERCESSOR SQUAD or VETERAN INTERCESSOR SQUAD can fire again at the end of the Shooting phase (see Honour the Chapter, how hard was that??) Intercessors bring decent shooting and getting to double-shoot them is good for getting the most out of them. For 2CP you really want there to be a lot of them, though. B

Not all Space Marine Chapters treat their Master of the Forge in this way. Some, such as the Mentors, the Praetors of Orpheus and the Astral Knights, embrace the dwindling advanced technologies of Mankind without the usual superstition and, in the case of the Iron Hands, with an enthusiasm nearly matching the Mechanicus. Looks pretty standard. The legs are already preposed and the shoulder pads are separate so you can swap them out to your specific chapter if you want. The main options for customization come in the left arm. You can use either the “join the dark side” open hand or the pistol arm. There are also two heads that can be swapped out for another one if you really wanted to. The Master of the Forge is so skilled that he can tell what is wrong with a vehicle's Machine Spirit at but a glance. Keeper of his Chapter's most ancient and treasured arcane secrets, he is the only one with the required skills to rouse the most ancient Dreadnoughts from their slumber, or operate potent wargear whose origin predates that of his Chapter.

This included a significant change to previous editions, or, looked at another way, a revival of a concept from 3rd – all Space Marines except the Grey Knights are now included in the ‘base’ codex, including those divergent chapters that previously had their own separate codexes – i.e. the Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, and even the xenos-hunting Deathwatch. Following on from the precedent established in 8th, these chapters have their own supplement codexes with additional stratagems, relics, Warlord traits, and their unique units and characters. This is a fantastic change – one of the lowlights of 8th was the increasingly messy situation of the different Chapter rules diverging as new releases for Codex: Space Marines had to fit into the various other chapters, and having them all share a common core solves that problem immediately. Bolter - Techmarines make use of the standard ranged weapon of the Space Marines as a replacement for the Bolt Pistol. Chainsword, Lightning Claw, Power Axe, Power Fist, Power Lance, Power Maul, Power Sword, or Thunder Hammer (as replacement for Omnissian Power Axe) For the final touch, use Stormhost Silver to add bright highlights to the edges and prominent areas of the metal components. This creates a striking contrast and makes the metal look freshly polished.

Release a new Primaris Techmarine and Servitor kit in plastic. Did you notice that GW has recently shown off BOTH a plastic Primaris tech dude and Servitor. Hmm… Obscuration is the Phobos discipline, and is filled with utility powers that are often interesting but also often quite mediocre. Warded. When a model with this Tactic suffers a mortal wound, it can roll a D6, and on a 5+ that wound is negated. A neat ability if you’re going up against lots of Smites, but ultimately very situational and not strong enough to take over the other options unless mortal wounds become much more common in the meta. Do not let Chase fool you with his ideas about this being worth trading for Inner Circle in his Dark Angels – he is a madman. D Now, it’s time to build up the color on the armor. Layer Evil Sunz Scarlet on top of the basecoat. Concentrate on the raised areas and edges, leaving the shaded areas intact. This layering technique adds highlights and dimension. There are a number of common army rules that many or all of your units have, as well as tweaking a few bits of list-building, which are defined at the very start Iron Priest Harl Greyweaver of the Space Wolves - Harl Greyweaver is an Iron Priest of the Space Wolves Chapter who has been seconded to the elite xenos-hunting Deathwatch -- the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Xenos. He has been the Forge Master of Watch Fortress Erioch since his predecessor answered a summons to serve the Achilus Crusade a decade ago. He is notoriously intolerant of other Chapters' brands of tech-craft, but his efficacy in conjuring the tools of war is so great that no one has yet been able to oust him. Veteran Marines ( Sternguard Veteran • Vanguard Veteran • Veteran Intercessor • Veteran Assault Intercessor • Bladeguard Veteran) • Terminator Squad • Terminator Assault Squad
